Named after Queen Victoria in 1882, Regina, which is Latin for “Queen” ,Saskatchewan’s elegant capital features cultural, historical and political landmarks on a stunning lakeside setting.
Regina is a lovely city with a rich history that dates back to 1882. Some of this can still be seen today, making it a city well worth visiting.
The Royal Saskatchewan Museum has exhibits on Canada’s Aboriginal peoples and native animals. It's in the Wascana Centre, a park surrounding Wascana Lake. Also in the park is the MacKenzie Art Gallery, with local and global artwork. Hands-on displays fill the lakeside Saskatchewan Science Centre. The RCMP Heritage Centre celebrates the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Regina is filled with culture, having numerous performing arts centres, museums and annual events. It also has more parks and green spaces per capital than any other city in the country. All-in-all, it is a great city for a holiday with much to offer.
